Swara Bhasker took to social media to announce her wedding with Fahad Ahmad, president of Samajwadi Party Yuvjan Sabha. The couple registered their marriage on February 16. Later that day, they hosted a ring ceremony in Juhu over lunch. The actress, who wore her mother’s sari and jewellery for the occasion, also revealed that there would be a “shehnaii-wala shaadi” soon.

Swara and Fahad’s wedding will take place in Delhi in March. Posting some pictures on Twitter of her special day, she wrote, “So blessed to be supported and cheered by the love of family and friends like family! Wore my mother’s sari & her jewellery.. made @FahadZirarAhmad wear colour, and we registered under the #SpecialMarriageAct Now to prep for shehnaii-wala shaadi (sic).”

Swara also shared a video with a montage that gave a glimpseinto their romance. “We were looking for love, but we found friendship first. And then we found each other! Welcome to my heart @FahadZirarAhmad It’s chaotic, but it’s yours! (sic),” she wrote.

Actor Swara Bhasker surprised her fans on Thursday as she shared pictures after marrying politician-social activist Fahad Ahmad. The couple got married under the Special Marriage Act. The Jahaan Chaar Yaar (2022) actor, who wore her mother’s 40-year-old wedding saree and jewellery, shared a video montage on social media and wrote, “Sometimes you search far and wide for something that was right next to you all along. We were looking for love, but we found friendship first. And then we found each other! Welcome to my heart @FahadZirarAhmad It’s chaotic but it’s yours! (sic)”

Ahmad, too, tweeted a photo and wrote, “When u realised it’s finally done. Thank you everyone for the love & support. The process was anxious but the result can be read from our faces. P.S-when I failed to stop @ReallySwara from dancing in court, I joined her, I feel that’s only secret for happy marriage (sic).”

Bhasker (34) and Ahmad (31) hosted a lunch for family and close friends after their marriage, which was attended by actors Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and Divya Dutta. Though the wedding was an intimate affair, a spokesperson has confirmed that they will have elaborate wedding celebrations in Delhi next month.
