PATHAAN set more records on Sunday as it collected an extraordinary 58 crore nett in Hindi while having its best day in dubbed regional versions with collections around the 2 crore nett mark. The collections in places like Gujarat/Saurashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab (political) and many Eastern centres were pretty much around the Thursday (Republic Day) number. But the collections in the metros and South India showed limited growth from Saturday as business slowed in the evening and night shows.

The film has a higher than normal ratio from the big southern cities which curtailed that Sunday growth a little. The Sunday collections were about mass centres and the film was on rampage mode in Gujarat/Saurashtra, Rajasthan, UP and Bihar with phenomenal collections.

The extended five day weekend for the film has closed around 270 crore nett with a further 9-10 crore nett apprx coming from the regional versions. A circuit like Nizam/Andhra may pretty much be holding the record already and if not its is just a matter of one or two more days. Before PATHAAN, there had been two 50 crore nett days and PATHAANhas scored 50 crore nett plus in four of the five days which pretty much tells the story of its insane collections. 

Now it comes down to the weekdays and the advances for Monday were strong so it is going hold but the question is how strong as its had a huge extended five day weekend and consumed a lot of business. There is a drop in ticket rates as it comes down from blockbuster rates to popular rates. Basically all records have been torn apart in five days and its a phenomenal weekend for team PATHAAN and the HINDI film industry.

PATHAAN has put up an astounding first weekend of over $25 million and the all time record for a Hindi film in original format stands at $30 million apprx by DANGAL and PATHAAN will cross that in a few more days. The records have fallen across all circuits. It is almost the highest grossing film of Shah Rukh Khan in Overseas with only DILWALE ahead but that was a Christmas release when business is at an optimum.

The stand out performance is Gulf where the film has grossed $8 million apprx and what puts this number into perspective is that only two films have crossed $2m post pandemic and they are KGF - CHAPTER 2 (Hindi) and BRAHMASTRA. The highest all time number is $9.5 million of BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN and that was Eid when business is best in Gulf and this number is gone by the end of the week.

Another insane number is United Kingdom where the film has grossed £2 million in five days. This market has struggled for years and the numbers for PATHAAN are simply unbelievable. Here a £1 million plus number today is a BLOCKBUSTER number while PATHAAN has doubled that just over its extended weekend. North America grossed over $9 million with Canada smashing all records and it is the same story in Australia.

New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, Germany, Nepal and many others and its just one record after another.

PATHAAN (Hindi) has put up an incredible worldwide number of 533 crore over its extended five day first weekend and there have been only ten films in history that have crossed 500 crore worldwide. The highest number ever is BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION (Hindi) at 801 crore followed by DANGAL at 702 crore. Just looking at the pace of its overseas business, it is practically certain to beat the numbers of  BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION. The DANGAL numbers may be done within a week.

WAR had grossed 450 crore worldwide so its gone ahead of that film by leaps and bounds over the extended weekend. The likes of PADMAAVAT, TIGER ZINDA HAI, SULTAN and SANJU will be done in a day or two.

The benchmark target for the film looks to be 1000 crore worldwide and time will tell if the film can get there.

PATHAAN had an excellent hold on Monday with collections of 25 crore nett apprx in India taking its total to 294 crore nett in just six days. The drop on the Monday is only 33% from the Friday which is an outstanding hold considering a five day weekend already gone and 270 crore nett crore already done in that weekend.

The hold were super strong all over but it was UP which was best dropping only around 20% from the Friday. The drops in South were a little more but that is probably due to very high numbers over the weekend and these circuits generally drop more.

The 300 crore nett mark will be smashed in a week as the film is looking to cover around 315 crore nett in seven days and it could be 350 crore nett in nine days. The numbers of DANGAL and KGF - CHAPTER 2 are going to be smashed over the next 6-7 days and its target BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION for the film which also looks within its range at the moment though there is a long way to go.

PATHAAN has torn all all the record books apart as it set a colossal total for the first week (7 days) by collecting 315 crore nett. It is the first time that a film has breached the 300 crore nett mark in a week as it stands head and shoulders above anything seen before. The next best total is KGF - CHAPTER 2 with around 250 crore nett but there was limited business from South. Even if we add South, that film would not be reaching 315 crore nett.

The film was released on 2420 theatres in Hindi and over 2000 theatres will be records. Shocking as it may seem there will be theatres in Odisha and Maharashtra where KGF - CHAPTER 2 had better week one totals. Two thousand theatre records and god knows how many district records and the first weekend and week has all been about RECORDS. The number of records goes into the thousands.

The last day of the week on Tuesday held up steady showing a 15% drop. The mass markets showed stronger holds on Monday so could have dropped more. The strongest market of UP was down 15% similar to the national average while the next best Gujarat/Saurashtra and CI were down only 10% despite super strong holds of under 30% on Monday.

There are two more days left of the extended week so it should close around the 350 crore nett. The crucial number is the second Friday and that is only in terms of target BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION. There is no doubt the second Friday is going to be huge but it should be big enough to keep the film on course to go past the 510 crore nett mark.

PATHAAN (Hindi) hit another huge day in overseas as it collected over $1.75 million with collections in North America going up and United Kingdom being pretty much similar to Monday. There was a drop in Gulf but the film has had insane collections till date in that circuit.

This has taken the worldwide total of PATHAAN (Hindi) to 617 crore making it the third highest Hindi language worldwide grosser in just one week. The films that stand above it are DANGAL and BAAHUBALI 2: THE CONCLUSION which are 700 and 800 crore nett respectively in Hindi language. 

This film has crossed the numbers of PK, BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN, KGF - CHAPTER 2 and SANJU, SULTAN and TIGER ZINDA HAI in seven days flat. It has also become the fifth Hindi film to hit 600 crore worldwide but there is much more higher benchmarks for this film to get. The overseas collections are historic and there it will be the biggest HINDI grosser ever by the end of its extended first week.
