Annu Kapoor is back to work following a health scare last month. “It was a heart attack. I am getting better and I’m on the road to recovery,” the actor — who was recently in the Capital for the launch of his upcoming book’s cover — tells us.

Kapoor was admitted to a Delhi hospital on January 27 after he complained of chest pain. Less than a month later, he has resumed work. Ask what motivated him to resume so soon, and pat comes the reply: “A sense of responsibility.”

“Yes, health is important. But, I am one of those who has struggled to get ahead in life. Therefore, work is also essential. I have a weekly column that I write for a newspaper; I know that is my responsibility. The same goes for my other commitments as well. If every person in this country has that sense of responsibility, then no other country will be better than ours,” shares the 66-year-old, who will star in the biopic of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya next.

Does he find it challenging to portray a historical figure? “Meri liye kabhi koi cheez aasaan nahin rahi hai. Jab main Antakshari (game show) host karta tha, woh bhi aasaan nahin tha,” he says.

Meanwhile, Kapoor is also wrapping up the shoots of Dream Girl 2 and Nonstop Dhamaal, among other projects. “I’m happy and grateful for the support of my fans and the industry. Main bahut abhari hoon. I sincerely pay my gratitude to all the people who prayed, and didn’t pray, for me,” he concludes.
