Aparshakti Khurana: Each song must get noticed

Lining up six singles for next year, Aparshakti on how it’s wiser to drop tracks individually as they are often overlooked in an album

Besides his acting commitments, Aparshakti Khurana focused on his music career this year, belting out three singles — Balle ni balle, Choti choti gal, and Neendraan ni aandiyaan. The year 2023 will be equally busy for the actor-singer, who has lined up six singles.

“When I see people humming my songs, I can’t tell you the joy it brings to me. I have been working on eight-nine songs, of which we have released a few this year,” he says.

Khurana had initially considered unveiling the six tracks together as an album. However, he has had a change of heart, and will drop them as singles. Reason? He has observed that songs gain more traction when released individually.

“Music has to be enjoyed at its own pace. The music label and I are planning to release the songs as singles because each of them must get noticed, and find a space of its own. That may not be possible when eight or nine tracks are clubbed in an album. [In such a scenario], some songs are likely to go unnoticed.”
