Senior film producer Nitin Manmohan passes away

Mumbai: Senior film producer Nitin Manmohan passed away Thursday. He had been admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital (Reliance Hospital) in Koparkhairane after suffering a cardiac arrest on December 3. His condition, however, deteriorated and he was placed on life support.
Nitin Manmohan, 62, had produced blockbuster movies, including Salman Khan’s ‘Baaghi’, Rishi Kapoor’s ‘Bol Radha Bol’, Sridevi’s ‘Laadla’, ‘Army’, ‘Shool’, ‘Love Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega’, ‘Baat Ban Jaaye’, ‘Insaaf’, ‘Anjali’ (Hindi), ‘Deewangee’, ‘Bhoot’, ‘Dus’, ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana’ and recently ‘Ready’.
Nitin was the son of character actor Manmohan, who played villain in several movies, especially against Sharmila Tagore in Shakti Samanta’s ‘Aradhana’ and ‘Amar Prem’. He directed ‘Prithvi’ and also produced ‘Mahasangram’, ‘Eena Meena Deeka’, ‘Ek Se Badhkar Ek’, ‘Chal Mere Bhai’, ‘Nayee Padosan’, ‘Rudraksh’, ‘Tango Charlie’, ‘Gali Gali Chor Hai’ and ‘Sab Kushal Mangal’. He also presented ‘Dil Maange More’ and ‘Zinda’.
Jaideep Sen and Ashoke Pandit from the film industry offered condolences. He is survived by a son who is based in Dubai, and daughter Prachi, who co-produced two movies with him.
