Social media has been abuzz with rumours of Kriti Sanon planning to tie the knot with south superstar Prabhas. While many were wondering if there was any truth to it, Kriti has cleared the air by saying that the rumours are baseless.

On Tuesday night, the actress took to her Instagram handle and issued a statement denying the news. She wrote, “It’s neither pyaar, nor PR. Our Bhediya just went a little too wild on a reality show. And his fun banter led to some howl-arious rumours. Before some portal announces my wedding date, let me burst your bubble. The rumours are ABSOLUTELY baseless! (sic).”

Kriti’s statement comes soon after Varun Dhawan hinted at her relationship during the promotion of their recent film on the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. A video from the show where Varun is interacting with Karan Johar has gone viral on social media.

In the video, when Karan asked Varun about a list and why Kriti’s name was not on it, the Main Tera Hero actor replied, “Kriti ka naam isliye nahi tha kyunki Kriti ka naam kisi ke dil mein hai. Ek aadmi hai jo Mumbai me nahi hai, woh iss waqt shooting kar raha hai Deepika Padukone ke saath.”

After his statement, Kriti was seen blushing, leading netizens to believe that Varun was referring to Prabhas. Speculations about Kriti and Prabhas dating each other have been doing the rounds for a while now. The two will be seen in Om Raut’s Adipurush along with Saif Ali Khan next year.

Meanwhile, Varun has also issued a clarification. Reposting Kriti’s statement, the actor wrote, “Guys, U had ur fun, but it’s just fun and stuff the channels have edited to have fun we took it as humour, dont let ur imagination run so wild (sic).”

Sanon’s post comes after her Bhediya co-star Varun Dhawan hinted at her relationship, during his appearance on a dance reality show. Clarifying the incident, she wrote, “It’s neither Pyaar, nor PR.. our Bhediya just went a little too wild on a reality show. And his banter lead to some Howl-arious rumours. (sic)”

On the show, filmmaker Karan Johar had asked Dhawan to list the names of eligible single women in the Hindi film industry. Dhawan did not include Sanon’s name in the list. When Johar asked Dhawan the reason for the same, he responded, “Kriti ka naam is liye nahin tha kyunki Kriti ka naam kisi ke dil me hai. Ek aadmi hai jo Mumbai me nahin hai; iss waqt shooting kar raha hai Deepika (Padukone) ke saath.” Prabhas is working with Padukone on Project K, a bilingual film.

Dhawan also reposted Sanon’s Story, and wrote, “It’s just fun and stuff the channels have edited to have fun we took it as humour don’t let ur imagination run wild. (sic)”
