DRISHYAM 2 continued with fantastic collections on Tuesday as it collected 10.50 crore nett, dropping only 10% from the previous day. The drops in mass belts are not even 10% as the film started a little slower here on Friday.

The five day business of the film has reached 85 crore nett and the week will go to around 103 crore nett. Only SOORYAVANSHI and BRAHMASTRA have managed to hit 100 crore nett in a week post the pandemic. if we compared day five then DRISHYAM 2 is actually ahead of SOORYAVANSHI and BRAHMASTRA on day five despite the all India number being less.

The target for the second week will be the highest second total post pandemic for an original Hindi film (outside THE KASHMIR FILES) and the way the film is going, it is very much possible to score a 50 crore nett plus second week. There will be BHEDIYA for competition but DRISHYAM 2 is established. So competition hardly makes much difference in the business scenario unless the new competition is going to take a huge initial.

DRISHYAM 2 remained rock steady on Wednesday as it collected another 9.50 crore nett to take its six day total to 94.50 crore nett. The film is only dropping around 10% on the weekdays and a similar trend on the last week of the day will see the film end with a 103 crore nett first week.

The film continues to be best in Mumbai/Gujarat and may well turn out to be the best performing film in this area after SOORYAVANSHI. As weird as it may sound, its likely to beat SOORYAVANSHI in most of the major circuits except Mumbai which is actually its best performing circuit. This is more to do with the lopsided performance of SOORYAVANSHI due to crazy numbers in Gujarat/Saurashtra over Diwali. 

DRISHYAM 2 will have a target of 50 crore nett plus in week two which is very much achievable. TANHAJI: THE UNSUNG WARRIOR is the only Ajay Devgn film to cross 50 crore nett in week two and DRISHYAM 2 should be the second.

DRISHYAM 2 did well in overseas as it grossed $2.3 million apprx driven by excellent business in USA/Canada which topped $1 million. The business in Canada was spectacular as almost 50% of the USA/Canada business came from Canada.

The overseas numbers are fifth highest this year behind BRAHMASTRA, LAAL SINGH CHADDHA, GANGUBAI KATHIAWADI and VIKRAM VEDHA. There are also the dubbed films above it with KGF - CHAPTER 2 at $3.8m and RRR at $2.5m. It probably has the potential to beat VIKRAM VEDHA which did around $5 million plus overseas.

The worldwide collections of the film for the opening weekend are 75.50 crore GROSS in India and 18.75 crore in Overseas which gives a total of 94.25 crore for the first weekend which is fourth best ever for Ajay Devgn starrer after GOLMAAL AGAIN (134 cr), SINGHAM RETURNS (120 cr) and TOTAL DHAMAAL (97 cr)
