DRISHYAM 2 had a superb hold on Monday with collections dropping just 20% from the Friday and the Friday itself was a very good 15 crore nett. The Monday collections of the film are in the 11.75 crore nett range which is simply outstanding and in four days since release, the film has collected almost 75 crore nett.

The holds for the film were fantastic all over and the film has been accepted in a a big way and when this happens in todays box office scenario, then films tend to run and collect well for many weeks irrespective of the competition. The film may well continue to collect into the Christmas/New Year period.

The first week is looking to be over 100 crore nett and although from here the 200 crore nett mark looks far, it is very much possible due to how long the accepted films run today as mentioned above. The film is already a HIT and may well emerge a BLOCKBUSTER but that will be known in week two or week three.

This franchise goes to another level now and looking at the huge success of this film and BHOOL BHULAIYAA 2, it seems very important to create franchise films as the box office is much receptive to them maybe due to the recall factor.
