Drishyam 2 starts on a slow note. In fact, nothing much happens initially and one might wonder if the film has anything worthwhile to offer after all. However, have patience and wait for the second half. The climax will blow you away, especially if you have not seen the original version. This is when you also realize that the makers intentionally go slow for build-up. Nevertheless, the length is an issue and the film could have been shorter by 15-20 minutes. Also, the intermission point could have come a little later. Speaking of performances, Ajay Devgn yet again is in top form and effortlessly gets back into the character of Vijay Salgaonkar. Akshaye Khanna is fantastic and it’s a pleasure to see him on screen. Here’s hoping we get to see him again in such power-packed roles. Tabu, as always, is efficient. Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta and Mrunal Jadhav are dependable. Siddharth Bodke (David) leaves a huge mark and the same goes for Kamlesh Sawant (Gaitonde). Saurabh Shukla is lovely in a cameo. Rajat Kapoor, Neha Joshi (Jenny) and others do well. The music isn’t impressive but Devi Sri Prasad’s background score is exhilarating. All in all, Drishyam 2 is a justified sequel and worth watching!
