Mumbai: A film producer was booked recently for trying to run over his wife in the parking lot of the building where stays in Andheri (west). The producer, Kamal Kishor Mishra, has been booked after his wife registered an FIR at Amboli police station, accusing him of running her over after she caught him with a model in the car on October 18.

Mishra, producer of the Hindi film ‘Dehati Disco’, has gone into hiding, the police said. A wheel of the car ran over the woman’s legs, injuring her on the legs. Her condition is stable. In her complaint, Mishra’s wife has stated: “I found my husband with another woman in our car when I came out looking for him. When I confronted him, he ran the car over me, trying to escape and injured me. . . ”

The FIR adds that the incident has been captured on CCTV cameras of the building’s parking area. “I can be seen falling on the ground after being run over. . . ” her FIR states.

A police officer said that the case has been registered on the basis of the woman’s complaint that her husband was committing adultery and that he deliberately ran his car over her while escaping from the spot after the confrontation.

The police are on the lookout for Mishra who has been booked for ‘rash driving’ and ‘endangering life or personal safety’ under sections of the Indian Penal Code. Joint commissioner of police (law & order) Vishwas Nangre Patil called up the injured woman and assured her that the accused will also be charged with ‘attempt to murder’.
