There has been a huge influx of South dubbed films as there seems to be a South domination narrative in the media but generally these are wash outs on the first day itself. VIKRANT RONA is a film from the Kannada film industry (the land of KGF) and had the backing of Salman Khan productions. So it took a better opening than most South dubbed films at around 1.15 crore nett but it could not show the growth needed. The four day weekend in Hindi was 5.75 crore nett and Monday is around 60 lakhs nett taking it to 6.35 crore nett. The first week should be around 7.75-8 crore nett.
Due to the success of KGF, there are now even Kannada films being dubbed into Hindi. Around two months ago, a film named CHARLIE 777 was released which again was pushed by media being friendly on the film but could not penetrate as the starting point was insanely low. That film did around 6 crore nett and VIKRANT RONA has managed to cross that in 6 days but that's mainly due to the backing of a big name which gets more awareness. Also these numbers look better than they actually are as most of it coming from Maharashtra which has always been more receptive to South films since films started being made in India. This is not to say that Maharashtra is recording good numbers.
VIKRANT RONA took a very good start in Karnataka/Mysore as it collected 9.25 crore nett on day one but it fell thereafter and collected 28 crore nett over the four day weekend. These numbers are still good though due to the opening. The biggest Kannada film in Karnataka/Mysore outside the KGF films is CHARLIE 777 at almost 50 crore nett and this film could become fourth or fifth highest of all time. The business on Monday was 2-2.25 crore nett which is a drop but still it should at least get to 45 crore nett. The business in Karnataka/Mysore after five days is 30 crore nett apprx.
The all India business of the film was around 40.75 crore nett over the first four day weekend and it has collected around 3-3.25 crore nett on Monday taking it to 44 crore nett.
