(Crisp) Movie Review: LIGER (Hindi) by FENIL SETA

Liger (Hindi) starts with stylishly presented opening credits. A few action scenes and a comedy scene are entertaining and one hopes that it’ll be a timepass fare. Sadly, the film keeps getting bizarre and silly as it progresses. The intermission point will leave viewers shocked. They might hope that at least the second half would have something to root for but post interval, the film falls even more. Two factors that save the film to a small extent are the action scenes and Vijay Deverakonda’s casting. The actor puts in a lot of hard work and suits the part. Ananya Panday is quite over the top and moreover, she essays a very irritating character. Ramya Krishnan is shouting for no reason from start to finish. Mike Tyson is strictly okay. Ronit Roy is the only actor, besides Vijay Deverakonda, who acts with utmost conviction. Vishu Reddy, Ali, Makarand Deshpande, Getup Srinu and Chunky Panday are strictly okay. As for the songs, ‘Aafat’ and ‘Waat Laga Denge’ leave a mark but overall, the music score is not memorable. All in all, Liger is a silly fare and would leave viewers shocked and disappointed.
