Mumbai: Bollywood actor Salman Khan on Friday met Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar at the latter's office in south Mumbai, officials said.
The actor arrived at the Mumbai police headquarters, located opposite Crawford Market, in his car around 4 pm and met Phansalkar, an official said, adding that it was just a courtesy visit and had nothing to do with any case. Khan also met Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Vishwas Nangre Patil there.
Last month, Salman Khan and his father Salim Khan had received a letter threatening the father-son duo. The letter was left on a bench where Salim Khan was sitting, by a man suspected to be from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang.
The letter threatened that the actor and his father would meet the fate of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who was killed in May by members of Bishnoi’s gang. On June 9, a Mumbai crime branch team went to Pune and questioned Siddhesh Hiraman Kamble alias Mahakal, who is part of the Bishnoi gang, a police official said.
Kamble was arrested in connection with the killing of Moosewala along with a close associate, Santosh Jadhav, who was identified as on of the a shooters in the Punjabi singer’s death. After the letter was found, Khan's security had been enhanced.
