Aamir Khan recently visited the National Museum of Indian Cinema at Pedder Road and sat next to a life-size statue of Satyajit Ray, and said, “This is where I belong.”

Aamir also stumbled upon a rare poster of his maternal uncles, the Fazli Brothers from 1940s and spoke to the officials about them. He said, “I would love to visit the National Museum of Indian Cinema again with my family.”

Ravinder Bhakar, MD National Film Development Corporation and CEO CBFC, showed Aamir around the museum and discussed the history of Indian cinema with him. He said, “Some of Aamir’s films are already available in the museum and I am amazed at the depth of knowledge he possesses about the silent era, the talkies and the evolution of cinema.”

Bhaker pointed out that if filmmakers and actors would take out some time to visit the museum they may find a piece of their own history. Aamir told the officials that while he has read a few books on Dadasaheb Phalke, he would love to watch Raja Harishchandra in the restored reels with National Film Archive of India.
