‘We do make mistakes in life, and in shows’
HINDUSTAN TIMES (May 15, 2022)

Actor Sangita Ghosh opened up about the infamous scene from her ongoing daily soap Swaran Ghar that recently created a stir online. The viral dupatta scene has been the topic of contention for over two days, and was tagged as “bizarre” and “hilariously logic-defying” by a few internet users.

Ghosh took to Instagram and admitted that the team has realised they made a mistake. In her long post, Ghosh wrote: “I think when your audience gives you so much love and appreciation, they also have the right to criticize. I told everyone on the set that at least hum viral ho gaye. We do make mistakes in life and shows. The intention and the execution did not come out the way it was planned. The team has realised they went wrong.” She added that “everyone will be careful next time”.

She further continued, “The show is a progressive one and has been lauded for its content. Yes, we faltered but that doesn’t mean we are not doing good work. Television has been instrumental in taking up so many sensitive topics. I, myself, have done some amazing work.”

In the same post, Ghosh also shared a screenshot of someone slamming actor Kamya Punjabi, who had earlier in a tweet said that scenes and shows like these are the reason why people look down upon TV.
