ANEK had a very poor weekend as it collected only 5.50 crore nett apprx which is lower than BADHAAI DO which did 6.78 crore nett and not much better than a film like JHUND which was 5 crore nett apprx. The film dropped on Sunday due to the IPL match but even if that was not there, it would not have grown much.

The film is supposed to give some message but what is not understood that these films never reach the masses anyway and are mainly seen by the multiplex crowd in a few of the metros who will have some awareness of the issue anyway. This is not just for ANEK but most other films which also try and deliver a message to society.

The three day collections of ANEK are as follows.
Friday - 1,75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 2,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 1,75,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 5,50,00,000 apprx

TOP GUN: MAVERICK has not done much business over the weekend as it collects 13.25 crore nett including IMAX previews on Wednesday and Thursday. The film has done far better than ANEK but it was a wide release of almost 1800 screens; so business is not up to the mark.

Still the fate is dependent on Monday and if the film can do business in the range of its Friday business it will have a chance for a decent run. The film has done huge business in the US with around $125 million over the weekend and Memorial Day to come which should take it to $150 million for the four day bank holiday. The plus is that is has bought back the older viewers back to the cinemas in a big way post the pandemic due to the brand value of TOP GUN (1986).

The collections of TOP GUN: MAVERICK in India till date are as follows.
Wednesday - 25,00,000 apprx
Thursday - 2,00,00,000 apprx
Friday - 2,50,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 4,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 4,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 13,25,00,000 apprx
