RAW (Hindi) was a total wash out as it collected around 1.75 crore nett over five days and around 65 lakhs of that came on the first day. The figures were so bad that it started to lose screens from the second day itself. KGF - CHAPTER 2 might have set the box office on fire but RAW is the more general result for a dubbed South film that is run of the mill.
The original film of RAW is BEAST coming from Tamil film industry and features one of the biggest stars of that state if not the biggest Vijay Joseph. This guy also had another release in Hindi last year named MASTER which did better to put up around 4 crore nett in its run. It got a better release as it was a time when no other films were releasing but the box-office was also in a poor state.
The original Tamil film BEAST has done well in Tamil Nadu with collections in the 65 crore nett range over the first five days while other areas in South are so so and with around 25 crore nett came from the rest of the South and then if you add Hindi its a 92 crore nett apprx total for the film.
The film is basically about Tamil Nadu and needs 100 crore plus to cover but it will be hard going by the results of the previous few Tamil biggies which hardly added after the opening weekends and they also had extended weekends. KGF - CHAPTER 2 will also prove to be competition in the state as it is running on high occupancy although on lower collections than BEAST. KGF - CHAPTER 2 collected 5.82 crore nett on day one in Tamil Nadu. The four day numbers will probably be around 22-23 crore nett.
