Vidyut Jammwal is all set to essay the role of Sher Singh Raana in a film backed by Vinod Bhanushali and directed by Shree Narrayan Singh. The makers say that the story revolves around a man who undertook a journey to bring back the remains of the 12th century ruler of the Chauhan Dynasty, Prithviraj Chauhan, from Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Excited to join the team of the film, which promises to be a thriller, Vidyut Jammwal says, “This marks my first biopic. I think destiny connected the dots when this role came to me. I look forward to working with Vinod Bhanushali and Shree Narrayan Singh.”

Speaking about the casting, director Shree Narrayan Singh says, “When you hear tales of Sher Singh Raana, you know that his life and his experiences were filled with adventure and intrigue. While Vidyut has conquered the action space, in this film, we see him take on a character he has never attempted before.”

Talking about his collaboration with Vidyut, producer Vinod Bhanushali says, “Audiences will witness Vidyut in a never-seen-before avatar and the vision Shree will bring on screen is definitely going to be gripping.”

The biopic on Sher Singh Raana is produced by Vinod Bhanushali, Kamlesh Bhanushali and Vishal Gurnani of Bhanushali Studios Ltd and Vishal Tyagi and Mohammed Imran Khan of Matargashti Films.

Producer Vinod Bhanushali recently announced his first association with director Shree Narrayan Singh as the two have come together for a biopic on the life of Sher Singh Raana, a staunch Rajput who undertook the most dangerous journey to bring back the 800-year-old pride of India — the ashes of warrior king Prithviraj Chauhan.

In the most recent development, the makers have roped in actor Vidyut Jammwal to essay the lead role in the film. He will be playing Sher Singh Raana, who was a prisoner at the Tihar Jail (Delhi), but escaped the high-security jail, not with violence but mind tactics. The edge-of-the-seat thriller, Sher Singh Raana also marks the actor’s first tryst with a biopic.

Set to join the team of Sher Singh Raana, Jammwal says, “Some roles are tailor-made for some actors. I was destined to essay the role of Sher Singh Raana. I am happy to collaborate with Vinod Bhanushali and Shree Narrayan Singh. I hope we do justice to Sher Singh Raana’s intriguing story that shook the world.”

Talking about what makes Jammwal the perfect fit to play the part, Singh says, “We felt it would be interesting to witness Vidyut take on a role that the audience has never seen him in before. Sher Singh Raana will be his first biopic and we are confident he will make a great Sher Singh Raana.”
