RAHDE SHYAM has done poor business in Hindi on day one with collections of 4.50 crore nett as the audience in Hindi circuits see the film as a dubbed film and on top of that it is a romantic film. The problem is there is no face value for the multiplex audience and the genre does not offer anything for the masses.

Despite the success of BAAHUBALI and SAAHO, the hero of the film, Prabhas, is not a star across the Hindi circuits but if it is an action film made in the way it appeals to the audience, then something can happen as the genre with a grand scale can bring an opening like SAAHO. A recognized female lead for Hindi circuits can help also to make the film look more familiar.   

The film has done better in places where the South actors have a better market like Maharashtra, CP Berar and Odisha while even with a more Hindi looking film it is unable to perform at all in Delhi, Punjab or Rajasthan. Gujarat also could not do well with THE KASHMIR FILES beating it in many cinemas which is a surprise as that is a heavy film while RAHDE SHYAM is attempting to be in the romantic commercial zone and Gujarat is a conservative market which does not like heavy films mainly for adults.

There is not much hope for the film from here as the opening day is too low across the board and its a wide release. So it will be a struggle to get growth over the weekend. It may do better on Sunday but reports are weak and that could curtail Sunday as well.

RAHDE SHYAM recorded the second highest opening day if we take all formats into account due to good business in Nizam/Andhra though that is not expected to last and there were cracks on day one itself. The highest opening day across India is PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01 at 45 crore nett. 

RAHDE SHYAM has not done well anywhere outside Nizam/Andhra with the best collections outside Nizam/Andhra were in Karnataka and the Telugu version in Mumbai/Thane and a few other properties in Hindi circuits where South films do well.

The expected fall in Andhra Pradesh means it will be very tough for the fall post the first day collections even on Saturday and Sunday. The Hindi version itself is struggling for growth on day two so the rest have no chance.
