Over a month ago, there was news that Jacqueline Fernandez, who was earlier cast in Akkineni Nagarjuna’s The Ghost, was not doing the film anymore. Some time later, it was confirmed that Sonal Chauhan was being cast opposite Nagarjuna in the film.

When BT reached out to Sonal, she confirmed the news. The Jannat actress said, “I don’t know if I replaced anyone. It does not work like that in films. People explore various options and cast an actor, who suits the script. Jacqueline is an achiever, and I have great respect for her as an actress. I am just glad that I am doing the film.”

Sonal added, “Getting a good film is like hitting a jackpot. Every actor gives her best, but you don’t really know the result till the film hits the screens. When a film is made, it does not depend on just one thing. Many factors come together to make it a hit. So, I am glad that I have landed a role, which will be instrumental in taking the story forward.”

Sharing her views on a good script, Sonal said, “I have done a few good films and always felt that a script has to mentally and emotionally connect with audiences. I am happy to be doing this film where I am paired opposite a big star like Nagarjuna.”
