(Crisp) Movie Review: RADHE SHYAM by FENIL SETA

Radhe Shyam works in bits and pieces. The opening scenes are poor and the film does pick up when Prabhas and Pooja Hegde meet and love blossoms between them. The interval point is quite arresting. However, nothing much happens from here on. The twists and turns don’t make sense. The climax is grand but fails to make an impact. The music is also a huge letdown as this is a film mounted as musical love saga. Prabhas is fine but he could have done better as he seems a bit laidback in some scenes. His dialogue delivery also ought to be more convincing. Pooja Hegde is memorable and looks quite stunning. Sachin Khedekar and Sathyaraj (Paramahamsa; Vikramaditya's guru) are decent. Bhagyashree, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Jagapathi Babu and Jayaram don’t get much scope. Murali Sharma is shockingly wasted. All in all, Radhe Shyam is an epic disappointment.
My rating - ** out of 5!
