The Bollywood football gang has not been in action lately, and given the current restrictions in place, they won’t be seen on the field too soon. Hungama 2 actor Meezaan Jafri talks about his favourite sport and remembers playing with his contemporaries. The actor has been a sought after player with the All Stars Football Club and has often been captured on camera playing the game with buddies from the industry.
Meezaan says, “I used to play football in school for Maharashtra. I began playing football with the Bollywood club in 2013-14. I have been playing on and off as I went abroad for further studies and then geared up for my Bollywood debut.”
The actor, who made his debut in 2019 with Malaal, opens up about his co-players on field. He shares, “The longest I have played football with, from within the group, is Ranbir Kapoor. I get along really well with him. I also bond well with Arjun Kapoor. The two of us are defenders. While Arjun plays in the centre, I am on the left. So, he is the closest to me on the field (laughs!). Our gossip session keeps going on all the time in between the game. I am excited about having Ibrahim (Ali Khan) on the field. He has been our new recruit, and he plays really well.”
The actor also talks about the one player he’s petrified sharing the turf with. He reveals, “I get scared to play with Tiger (Shroff). It is impossible to catch him. He is a striker, I am a defender and he makes me run like crazy. His name is Tiger, but he literally runs like a cheetah. I love his dedication and his work ethic. Apne kaam se kaam rakhta hai and I love that attitude of his.”
