'83 Trailer: 'Here To Win' - Ranveer Singh As Kapil Dev Leads India In World Cup Thriller
Box Office India Trade Network

'83 (Hindi) collected 18.50 crore nett in its second weekend which is a 58% drop from the first weekend and pretty much similar to the drop of SOORYAVANSHI. But SOORYAVANSHI was a holiday weekend to a normal weekend while here it is a holiday weekend to a holiday weekend. The drop is fair but the collections are poor and this drop had to come off far higher collections.

There are huge excuses being given for the failure of the film from ticket prices to Omicron to the budget but at the end of the day, the only fact is that public has not liked the film but for a small minority and collections will reflect that. Ticket prices were a plus for the film and at lower rates the business would have been even lower.

The budget is also a plus because at lower costs the film would have been even worse and then its likely the minority actually the liking would not have liked. Its not like if the budget comes down 30-40% which gives an even weaker film then it would get the same collection, the collection will also be less. Also as far as the audience is concerned, the budget is irrelevant; for them its about the film being good or bad.

Omicron can be an excuse but there is PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01 (Hindi) running side by side where the content has worked in some pockets and that does not seem to have an issue. It has had to deal with the same issues as '83 and the same closures and same restrictions.
