Katrina Kaif, Who 'Loved' 83, Wrote This About Ranveer Singh's Performance

'83 (Hindi) had a low first week collection of 68 crore nett plus as the film failed to get an audience outside the premium multiplexes and even there it was not as if the collections were huge. The footfalls in week one are pretty much a disaster and these collections could have been even lower if the film did not have record ticket prices at the national multiplex chains.

The collections of the film were a bit steadier towards the end of the week but the damage had been done in the first weekend. The first WEEK collections of the film were lower than the first WEEKEND of SOORYAVANSHI and both films released in weeks with national holidays.

The film probably lost around 1 crore nett with Delhi city being closed from Wednesday. But in places like CP Berar and Odisha it was just a matter of a few days and PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01 (Hindi) started to collect more and soon enough Bihar and Gujarat/Saurashtra will go ahead and also Maharashtra (outside Mumbai city and Pune). The better business came from South and the Tamil version also had decent collections for the film. The regional versions collected around 4 crore nett with bulk coming from the Tamil version.

A plus for the film is that it has another holiday weekend and an open week as JERSEY will not release. The film would have lost half of its screen space if JERSEY had come but now it can maintain better collections. The film should have a jump in collections on Friday due to New Years Eve and then it will be holiday on Saturday for New Years day.

The first week collections of '83 (Hindi) are as follows.
Friday - 11,96,00,000
Saturday - 16,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 16,50,00,000 apprx
