Sunny Kaushal isn’t one to refuse any sort of guidance or help when it’s right there at home. The son of renowned action director Sham Kaushal and brother of actor Vicky Kaushal feels “nobody can flourish alone. You always need someone to have your back, it keeps you mentally prepared”. But what he ultimately does professionally is his own decision, asserts the actor, who was recently seen in Shiddat.

He elaborates, “My father has so much experience in the industry. He is the one I go to if I have any kind of problem communicating with a certain person, or want to reach out to someone. He is a professional and has gone through all that.”

Similarly, the actor feels Vicky is there for any acting advice he needs. “He understands a lot of things and has reached a certain stage. All in all, I would say I seek guidance from my family as a whole,” he shares.

But at the end of the day, Kaushal believes in listening to his own guts. Set to be seen next in Hurdang, the actor says, “What I do professionally and even personally are my own decisions. I don’t go and say, ‘Oh should I do this film or not, dad’. That is how I will learn and grow, it is a necessity to be your own person to flourish.”

In a family where almost everyone is in the showbiz, it is his mother, Veena, who gives them all a reality check. The 32-year-old shares, “She’s the most emotionally honest one in our family. She honestly tells us if she doesn’t like something or loves something.”
