'83 New Poster: Ranveer Singh And Team Share A Glimpse Of India's 'Greatest Story'
Box Office India Trade Network

'83 (Hindi) collected 7 crore nett apprx on Monday which is a 40% drop from Friday which in terms of drop is not that bad as 50% is the normal. But the problem is Friday was not good and you have to be holding up stronger especially in this period between Christmas and New Year which is the best time of the year for multiplex business.

SOORYAVANSHI was the perfect release for Diwali and in that way '83 is the perfect release for Christmas as the period is very good for business in multiplexes and this the target audience for multiplexes. 83 is doing pretty well in the larger multiplexes but elsewhere business is not good. Before the release, the target of this film would have been a double digit Monday as that was the way this film was going to succeed because the huge weekend that the industry expected was never on the cards as the film would not hold initial appeal in many circuits.

The footfalls of the film are very less as despite 51 crore nett plus the footfalls are still less than what PUSHPA: THE RISE - PART 01 had done on its 37 crore nett after second weekend due to the higher ticket rates of 83. Still this is the way to go with these films as you try and get the most out of each footfall as at end of the day the number of footfalls are not going to be a lot as the film is mainly for that high end audience.

The film has collected 51 crore nett plus so far and it should be able to hold up over the weekdays due to the period to finish the week at 68-70 crore nett but this collection is far too low for the film and the damage was done on Saturday and Sunday not having that big growth. The film is doing better in South especially Mysore and Tamil Nadu. The Tamil version is also decent in that latter.

The four day collections of '83 (Hindi) are as follows.
Friday - 11,96,00,000
Saturday - 16,00,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 16,50,00,000 apprx
Monday - 7,00,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 51,41,00,000 apprx
