SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS had a good first weekend of 10.75 crore nett apprx though that Saturday growth was limited which may make a long run with good collections hard. The film did well on Sunday and collected well with collections in the same range as BELLBOTTOM on Sunday.
The South had a lesser ratio on Sunday as Delhi NCR collected very well for a 90 lakh plus total which is the highest circuit total for the film for any circuit on any day. This has come from a minimal contribution from UP outside Noida. The South ratio was 40% on Sunday as compared to 50% on day one.
The best performance is Nizam/ Andhra with over 2 crore nett business for the weekend. Overall its a solid performance considering the situation with that Saturday growth being the negative though a high ratio of business from South can be a reason for that.
The weekend business for SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS is as follows
Friday - 3,00,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 3,50,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 4,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 10,75,00,000 apprx
The film also scored in the West as it racked up over $125 million worldwide with $72 million apprx coming from US and a post pandemic record in UK of £5.5 million apprx. The film does not have a PVOD release alongside theatrical so it will be expected to be the first $200 million film post the pandemic in the States. The month is open with NO TIME TO DIE to hit theatres in October. So a near $250 million total is a possibility.
