At 86, Prem Chopra is in no rush when it comes to work. The veteran actor doesn’t want to step on a set amid the pandemic, just for the sake of being busy. Chopra, who turns a year older today, shares that the pandemic has muted his birthday celebrations, too.

“I’ll celebrate it with my family. There’ll be a havan in the morning. We’ll get together for lunch and dinner,” Chopra tells us. Recalling how different things were before the pandemic, he adds, “I used to have a big birthday bash, where all my friends used to come. Now, we just accept wishes and hope everyone lives a blessed life.”

In a career spanning six decades, the actor earned the position of Bollywood’s most despised antagonist. However, he feels a lot has changed when it comes to the villain’s image “thanks to TV and OTT”.

“Earlier, people couldn’t digest that a villain can play a positive role... Now, the audience is ready to see the bad guy play a positive part as well,” says Chopra, who will be seen in Nautanki and Bunty Aur Babli 2. “I’m ready to step out for work, but only for something tempting,” he shares, adding, “I’m taking it easy, cherishing life, doing yoga and watching news.”
