Actor Vahbiz Dorabjee was shocked when she came across some morphed photos of herself being circulated online, highlighting her weight gain. Not willing to take this lying down, she is calling out the ones tweaking the narrative. Recently, Dorabjee, known for shows such as Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahani, Saraswatichandra and Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant, took to social media to lash out at a YouTube channel for distorting her photos to make her look plump.

She uploaded a collage that contrasted the real and tweaked images. “It is not the case that grapes are sour. Wazan ki toh baat hi nahin hai, kaunsi main pehle badi patli thi. I’ve been curvy, and my pics show that. What has angered me is how unethical it is. You are morphing someone’s picture just to get likes and views,” Dorabjee tells us, adding that it is was “cruel and crossed all lines of humanity”.

Calling out this form of body shaming, she continues, “I am not being a cry baby about my pictures getting morphed. But it’s harassment, bullying and defamation.” The 35-year-old asserts that she is done maintaining her silence. “Initially, I was naive. I didn’t know what to do about it. But now, I’m going to voice it out.”

Determined to not let the past repeat itself, she says, “When I came across it, I thought I must write about it. I’ve been overwhelmed with the number of people who’ve supported me, including Gauahar Khan, Arjun Bijlani and Saqib Saleem.”

The actor, who has embraced her natural figure, wonders what’s the need for such morphing in the first place. “It has become a very common practice to write nonsense about female actors, and their pictures and bust lines getting morphed,” adds the actor, informing us that the link was pulled down after her post, but she didn’t get an apology from anyone.
