FAST & FURIOUS 9 has had a decent first day in the range of 2 crore nett. This is not bad considering the film is available on the net with a HD version for weeks now. The film has released without Maharashtra and it may have been better to release the film in early August when piracy would have been less. Its pretty certain the film may have been able to better business especially over the week due to a larger audience which had not seen the film.

SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS has opened very well and at the moment is heading for the best opening day since cinemas reopened in late July. The film has been released on 900 plus sites which is just a little less than BELLBOTTOM. The collections of FAST & FURIOUS 9 was advance driven and on the slower side on the day and here SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS has a far bigger advance and it is on the day audience which can keep the collections lower than BELLBOTTOM.

On a normal scenario this film would be flying past BELLBOTTOM and going towards the 5 crore nett but post the pandemic the big Hollywood releases seem to have a trend that much of the initial audience buys tickets in advance. Wherever the film lands its going to be a very good collection and that too with Mumbai and Pune not there and also South not firing like it could.

There was a Hindi release FAACTORY but that will not do much as does not have much of release with only Gujarat showing some showcasing. The film has released on around just over 100 screens with half of them in Gujarat.

FAST & FURIOUS 9 saw a drop in collections on day two probably because of the release of SHANG-CHI AND THE LEGEND OF THE TEN RINGS. Still considering the film has released on digital across the world and India has a pirated version the collections are pretty healthy for this present scenario and exhibitors will be happy with response.
