Stationed in London since the month of April, Aftab Shivdasani is set to step out of his home for the first time since lockdown restrictions eased. The actor, who is set to attend the ICC World Test Championship Final match in Southampton, backing team India in the war against New Zealand, says, “What better way to support my country than do so via the sport we all love. We are taking precautions. We don’t plan to meet the cricketers as the players and support staff are in a bio bubble. I also have a family and a 10-month-old daughter, Nevaeh, so I wouldn’t want to take any risks.”

Shivdasani is the newest addition to Neeraj Pandey’s web series, Special Ops 1.5, shooting for which had ground to a halt in April, after commencing in March in Mauritius. “I had started shooting briefly. We shot a scene on a moving plane, something I’ve never done. Unfortunately, we had to adjourn the shoot due to the second wave, but we resume in July, in accordance with the stipulated SOPs.”

He isn’t willing to confirm or deny rumours about playing the antagonist in the show, also featuring Kay Kay Menon, only willing to state that his character has “a deep connection to that of Himmat Singh [played by Menon].”

The actor, who will also be seen in Poison 2, celebrated his seventh wedding anniversary with Nin Dusanj, last week. “I am happy that I am getting to spend quality time with [my family]. My work is unpredictable; opportunities come my way at any time, so, every day spent with them is something I cherish. On our anniversary, Nin and I had a romantic picnic in a nature reserve, and enjoyed being amid nature.”
