In Kick (2014), Randeep Hooda played a cop in pursuit of Salman Khan’s character Devil. Seven years on, the tables have turned as Hooda slips into the role of a drug lord, who is being hunted down by Khan’s encounter specialist, in Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai. In keeping with Prabhudheva’s filmmaking style, the action sequences between the central characters are the movie’s highlight.
The actor reveals that while filming a dramatic scene featuring Khan and him in a restroom, the director had the brainwave of extending it into a high-stakes action sequence. “The washroom fight sequence between Salman and me was imagined by Prabhu sir and Korean action director Myeong Haeng Heo on the spot. We did not rehearse,” he shares, before pointing out that the setting was hardly conducive for kicks and punches. “It was difficult to perform as the place was surrounded by glass; there was water all over and the floor was slippery. But we completed the scene without major injury.”
The cop drama, also featuring Jackie Shroff and Disha Patani, marks Hooda’s first collaboration with the filmmaker. While Prabhudeva’s movies are known for catchy dialogues that draw hoots and claps from single-screen audience, the actor observes that he also has an imaginative approach towards stunts. “Prabhu sir is quick, simple and creative. He performs the scenes in front of us, showing us exactly how he wants it to play out.”
