There has been a lot of debate around regulating content on OTT platforms. Talking about it, Kunal Kemmu, who has been a part of a web show and had a film that released directly on the digital medium last year, says, “Just because there is tolerance towards the amount of sex or bad language used in the digital space, that doesn’t mean you overdo it. Har ek line mein gaali daalne ki koi zaroorat nahi hai. It should be part of your story and be effective in the narration, then it’s fine. We have to use the digital space responsibly.”

Further, Kunal goes on to explain how people tend to overreact on seeing fictional characters and stories that are trying to convey something. He says, “I feel that sometimes people get hypersensitive about certain things. It’s not that somebody is trying to put somebody down on a web show… it’s just a fictional character, and the narrator is trying to say something that’s of relevance. There is a thin line between trying to say something necessary and trying to get reactions by stirring up controversy to boost viewership.”
