Mumbai: The Anti Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai Police on Wednesday arrested actor Dalip Tahil’s son Dhruv in connection with a drug peddling case.
Dhruv Tahil (30), a failed actor who has been booked under various sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance (NDPS), will be produced before the 37th metropolitan magistrate court on Thursday for custody.
Dhruv’s name figured in the drug syndicate after the Bandra unit of ANC on April 20 arrested one Muzammil Rehman Shaikh, a drug peddler with 35 grams of mephedrone (MD) worth Rs 3.50 lakh near Zakaria Nagar in Bandra west.
During his interrogations, Shaikh revealed that he is a drug peddler and has been supplying various synthetic drugs to clients in Mumbai and elsewhere-.“There have been chats between Muzzamil and Dhruv discussing drugs since 2019. It appears that the two were in contact with each other for a long time, and he is also involved in drug peddling. We have arrested him and further investigations are on,” said Datta Nalawade, deputy commissioner of police (ANC).
Police have also established the financial trail as Dhruv had deposited money in Muzammil’s bank accounts. Police are likely to question a few others who were purchasing drugs from Muzammil.
Meanwhile, in another case, the unit has arrested two persons with 100 grams of MD worth Rs 11 lakh in Bhiwandi.
