After announcing Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh as leads in their much-anticipated film, Doctor G, Junglee Pictures has now roped in actress Shefali Shah to play a significant role in the film. While details of the character that she’ll play in the campus comedy drama have been kept under wraps, it’s learnt that the powerhouse performer will essay the role of a senior doctor, Dr Nandini, in the film.

Helmed by debutante director Anubhuti Kashyap and written by Sumit Saxena, Vishal Wagh and Saurabh Bharat, the film will see Shefali Shah, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh sharing screen space for the first time. The combination of the trio has added to the buzz and anticipation around the film. Amrita Pandey, CEO Junglee Pictures, reveals, “When we started casting for Doctor G, the only name that came up for this part was Shefali. We believe she brings gravitas and great energy to this role. We cannot wait to have her on set and make this movie even more special.”

Director Anubhuti Kashyap, who also features as a co-writer, shares, “I am thrilled to have Shefali join the team. I’m a fan as she plays all her roles with so much ease and nuance. This being my first film, I’m really looking forward to working with such powerhouses of talent.”

Shefali Shah, known for her outstanding work in films and shows like Dil Dhadakne Do and Delhi Crime, adds, “I am excited to be a part of Doctor G. The writers, including Sumit, Saurabh and Vishal, along with Anubhuti, have written a fantastic script.
