Chennai: MNM leader and actor Kamal Haasan on Tuesday expressed lack of confidence in the Election Commission Of India (ECI) and demanded that it strictly enforce the rules and regulations to prevent entry of unauthorised persons and vehicles into the premises of the strong rooms, where the electronic voting machines (EVMs) are kept.

After submitting a petition to chief electoral officer (CEO) of Tamil Nadu Satyabrata Sahoo at the Secretariat on Tuesday, Kamal Haasan said the CCTVs at the counting centres are not functioning properly and allowing containers and unidentified men to enter the centres at odd hours is raising doubts.

“We will submit petitions after compiling the complaints from the cadres from across the state,” said Haasan, who contested from the Coimbatore South constituency.
