Stand-up comedian Rajeev Nigam has submitted a complaint letter at the Oshiwara police station after his social media accounts, including those on Facebook and Instagram, were hacked and subsequently deleted.
“It was hacked on February 26. My friends had been telling me that unusual posts were being uploaded on my account. I submitted a complaint at the Oshiwara police station on Wednesday after I could not access my Facebook account. It seems like the hacker has deleted it. My accounts were verified and had over two lakh followers. [We were doing well] during the lockdown, and my videos on contemporary issues were being viewed by millions,” Nigam told mid-day, adding that while his Instagram account was also hacked, he managed to access it later.
An officer attached to the station said, “It is a cyber-related matter. No FIR has been registered yet. We are working on it.”
