MUMBAI SAGA has managed to collect in Mumbai circuit despite the
deteriorating conditions for box office collections in the circuit. The
film has comfortably beat ROOHI's first day number in Mumbai which it
collected on Mahashivratri and this has come despite more restrictions
compared to last week.
MUMBAI SAGA collected 81 lakhs nett in Mumbai circuit which is the
highest opening day number post Coronavirus as it collected well at some
stations of Maharashtra and Gujarat. The other places where it set post
Covid-19 highs were Rajasthan, Bihar and Nizam/Andhra. Bihar saw 12
lakhs nett as single screens saw some decent numbers. Nizam/Andhra was
the third best circuit after Mumbai and Delhi despite limited numbers
from the Marathawada side. But this is because Andhra box office is doing
well as can be seen from the results of some Telugu films.
The hardest hit circuits by the restrictions were CP, Berar and CI which
saw 50% of what they should of done as major cities were under Covid-19 restrictions. If more cities get restrictions its pretty obvious that
the release schedule will change as a couple of weeks ago the business
was going to be affected by pandemic and the industry was resigned to
that but now with more and more places getting restrictions the
prospects for all India business are lower.
The top opening day
collections in Mumbai circuit post the pandemic are as follows.
1. Mumbai Saga - 81,00,000
2. Roohi - 65,00,000
3. Master (Tamil & Telugu) - 37,00,000
4. Wonder Woman 84 (Hindi and English) - 33,00,000
5. Tenet (Hindi & English) - 24,00,000
