The Hollywood animation film TOM & JERRY grossed around 2.25 crore nett over its first weekend. These are the best three day figures for films released in Hindi circuits since WONDER WOMAN 1984 late last year but still there is a good contribution from Southern cities like Hyderabad and Chennai.

WONDER WOMAN 1984 had collected around 5.50 crore nett over its first three full days (Thursday-Saturday) with a 1.55 crore nett total on its first full day. Here TOM & JERRY started in the 50-55 lakh nett region. TOM & JERRY is fourth highest opener post Coronavirus in Mumbai after WONDER WOMAN 1984, TENET and MASTER (Tamil) while in Delhi and Pune, it is the third after WONDER WOMAN 1984 and TENET. In East Punjab it is fourth after WONDER WOMAN 1984, TENET and SURAJ PE MANGAL BHARI. 

There was a small Hindi release called TUESDAYS AND FRIDAYS which opened at around 5 lakhs and did a weekend of a little under 20 lakhs nett.

The wait is for the first main release in a few weeks time and the first target for ROOHI will be to be the highest opening post Covid-19 and that includes Hollywood releases. A first day number above the WONDER WOMAN 1984's number would be a decent start for the film industry after one long year.
