SURAJ PE MANGAL BHARI has collected around 4 crore nett in around 10
weeks and remains in around 100 cinemas with one show. The film was the
first Hindi film to hit screens after they opened and there was a
limited audience when the film opened.
The film had only collected 55 lakhs nett on day one when the film
opened on the huge national holiday for Diwali and collections were on
the downward spiral pretty fast after day one and a 4 crore nett plus
total looked impossible but it has managed to remain in cinemas and
picked up collections week in and week out since release. The numbers
cant be called good but the film has made the best out of a bad
situation and stuck around and the limited competition has meant an
extended run.
It is by far the best result of a Hindi film released till date as
nothing else has even hit 1 crore nett and the film would have probably
done a little better if it was released now as conditions are better now
than they were on Diwali.
The weekly collections of the film till date
are as follows.
Week One - 1,59,00,000 (5 days)
Week Two - 88,00,000
