Fresh off the success of the second season of Mirzapur, actor Priyanshu Painyuli has bagged Airlift director Raja Krishna Menon’s yet-untitled next. Sources reveal that the 10-part black comedy, which is being shot over 45 days between December 2020 and February 2021, has been commissioned by Amazon Prime Video.

Only days after his wedding in the last week of November, the actor dived headlong into the project as he filmed some portions in Mumbai. A source reveals, “Priyanshu had a memorable year in 2020 with Extraction and Mirzapur 2. When the show came his way, he said yes almost immediately. The actor will be juggling the series along with the shoot of Rashmi Rocket, which sees him opposite Taapsee Pannu. He is expected to resume work on the satire in January-end after he wraps up the Kutch schedule of Akarsh Khurana’s sports drama.”

The series will be filmed at real locations in suburban Mumbai and Jaipur, with the makers resorting to guerrilla shooting as it is easier to pull off amid the current restrictions.
