Bollywood choreographers Remo DSouza and Salman Yusuff Khan, who were holidaying in Goa with friends and family, were booked by Goa Police for reckless and dangerous riding on Atal Setu in Panaji on Thursday. Calangute Police had issued summons to the two of them after a video Salman posted — showing him riding with Shakti Mohan — seemingly shot from a car driving alongside, went viral on social media this week. The second bike can’t be seen in the video, but both have been seized.

Due to high wind speed, two-wheelers are prohibited on the bridge over the Mandovi river. Locals were furious at this ‘irresponsible behaviour’ and soon started sharing the video, commenting and tagging Goa Police, the DGP and chief minister Pramod Sawant. The video was taken down on September 30.

Speaking to us, DGP Mukesh Kumar Meena said, “The matter has been brought to our notice and legal action will be taken.” He also took to his Twitter handle to announce, “Thanks #Goa for bringing traffic violations to notice. Recently two bikers were seen riding on Atal Setu which is closed to 2 wheelers. SP Traffic Dinraj Govekar took cognisance and not only identified and impounded the bikes but has summoned riders for legal action. #goapolice (sic)”.

Several Bollywood celebrities have been holidaying and working in Goa lately, exploring offbeat places like waterfalls, streams, dams and quarries. Remo recently directed a music video featuring Guru Randhawa and Dhvani Bhanushali, which was shot in Goa.
