Mumbai: A television actress who had been arrested with 99 gm of ganja last Sunday was granted bail by the magistrate’s court on Thursday. Faisal Yasin from whom the actress allegedly bought the drugs was also released on bail.

The magistrate’s court granted bail on grounds that the quantity of drugs seized from her falls under the definition of small quantity. The offence attracts a punishment of 1 year rigorous imprisonment or fine of up to Rs 10,000 or both.

The magistrate directed that the actress and Yasin be released on execution of a personal bond of Rs 15,000 and surety of like amount.

The court directed that they attend the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office between 3 pm and 5 pm for four Saturdays to assist in the probe.

“The seized quantity is 99 gm and all offences punishable with imprisonment for a term of up to 3 years shall be triable by the magistrate’s court,” said the actress’s advocate Ayaz Khan.
