It’s hard to believe that someone who people started considering a messiah, is now being called ‘the biggest scam of 2020’. But, Sonu Sood is unperturbed by all this.
“These are a handful of people, who suddenly rise from nowhere. They don’t exist in reality. I didn’t bother to see what they’ve written, some friends told me. I’ve got lots of things to do for people,” says the actor, who, over the last four months has sent several migrants to their home towns, helped many in need for medical aid, or just someone needing a house.
However, of late, some people claimed that Sood didn’t actually help people on such a large scale, and even shared screenshots, alleging that many who sought help on Twitter have now deactivated their accounts. The 47-year-old laughs off such claims saying, “If these trolls start seeing the data and count the number of people I’ve connected with, unke bachhe tab tak badhe ho jaayenge.”
Sood has a list of about 7,03,200 people, along with their addresses, phone numbers, Aadhaar card details, who he has been in touch with. “And the number is increasing by every second,” he quips.
What about the deleted tweets of those who asked for help? Sood clarifies that those tweets had sensitive data, which the concerned people themselves deleted. “If someone had shared their phone number and Aadhaar card, and after I’ve helped them, why would they want their details to remain there? But, I still challenge every troll that exist. I can send them tweets, the deleted ones don’t get removed from my account,” he maintains, adding, “Trolls ke muh pe thappad padha hai, unki trolling hui hai. They’ve vanished overnight.”
The actor, in fact, requests these bots to use the money they earn, to further help others. “Trolls earn on every tweet, so they must help people and not keep it all at home,” he concludes.
