Since the lockdown first came into force in March, shootings too had to halted. Now, Bollywood has gradually resumed work and come 2021, actor Katrina Kaif will face the cameras again, for a special project — a two-part superhero film helmed by director Ali Abbas Zafar.

“If everything goes well, we should start rolling sometime in January,” he says, adding, “Katrina has already started her physical prep. But she has a few other commitments to wrap up before starting work on the superhero films.”

Zafar and his team have temporarily shifted to Dubai to work on the series. “Yes, right now, my team and I are working out of Dubai. An international team is working with us on the series but due to the Coronavirus travel restrictions, it wouldn’t have been easy for them to fly in-and-out of India,” the filmmaker tells us from Dubai.

Zafar, who has worked with Kaif in films such as Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) and Bharat (2019), calls it “a very special project for all of us.” “There’s also a web show that we are really excited about. It’s a really different format, but at the same time, it’s also creatively liberating,” he adds.
