Mumbai: Actor Kangana Ranaut says BMC has not dealt with discrepancies she raised and has merely made “a last ditch attempt” only “to cover up their ex facie illegal acts” in demolishing part of her Pali Hill bungalow. She accused BMC of seeking “personal vendetta” by issuing her a 24- hour demolition notice while the same day issued a 7-day notice to “famous fashion designer, Manish Malhotra” who occupies the bungalow next to hers in Bandra (west).

The BMC, she said, deprived her a fair chance to reply to the notice, and “demonstrated bias” and “malice”. The notice was issued “as a counter blast” to her public statements, said her rejoinder.

The BMC last week termed as “baseless and bogus” her Rs 2 crore demand as damages. On Monday, in her rejoinder to the civic affidavit, she has said the BMC by its September 7 demolition notice and the September 9 demolition has shown “scant regard for law’’ and its own guidelines. She denied that any alleged illegal work was on or done some time ago. She said BMC was resorting to a “evasive and misleading response.
