On Wednesday morning, Randeep Hooda walked into the Breach Candy Hospital and got himself admitted. The same day, he took the mandatory rapid Coronavirus test. The results came, he tested negative. Later in the day, a surgery was performed on his leg and he is currently under observation. The actor, who turned 40 on August 20, had suffered through a night of excruciating pain on Tuesday.

It was a long-pending surgery and an elective one. “It has gone off well and he should be discharged in a few days. He is fine, there is nothing to worry,” assured a source.

Randeep’s father, Ranbir Hooda, a doctor himself who was with him at the hospital, confirmed it saying, “He is in recovery, we hope to take him home soon. The leg injury happened sometime ago. It flared up again recently and was causing him a lot of pain. That’s why he had to undergo this surgery.”

Last December, Randeep was rushed to the Kokilaben Hospital after dislocating his knee while filming a stunt scene for Salman Khan’s action thriller Radhe, in which he plays the antagonist. The stunt had been designed by a Korean team and after the 18th take, his knee just gave way.

The source was quick to add that this surgery was not related to that injury.

On Tuesday, Randeep had posted online a picture of himself astride a cycle, in biker’s gear. Knowing him, he will be up and cycling soon.
