After a whirlwind year-long romance, Nargis Fakhri broke up with filmmaker-boyfriend Matt Alonzo in January last year. Soon after, the actress deleted all traces of him from her social media accounts and began anew. But it was only on Tuesday that she finally lasered out a tattoo with Matt’s initials inscribed on her hand. The duo had got matching tattoos with each other’s initials on May 1, 2018. “#ByeByePast,” she wrote, sharing a clip of the procedure.

The couple had parted ways earlier too, after which Nargis took up spirituality, dedicating four hours a day to yoga. They got back together then, though it was reported that instead of living in with him, she had rented out a place close to his pad. The tattoos were significant because she had confirmed their relationship by sharing a picture of the side of her hand and his palm where the initials of their names ‘MN’ were freshly inked. Apparently it was Matt’s idea and he had convinced a reluctant Nargis.

Seems like it was the actress’s new relationship with chef Justin Santos that prompted her to take the step. After spending the Memorial Day weekend with her boyfriend by the San Clemente beach, when she thanked him for “coming out and cooking up a storm”, the actress has been hanging out with Justin back home in Los Angeles, too.

Three days ago, Nargis posted on Instagram, “Spring proves that regardless of the darkness & desolation, new life is not only possible, it once again thrives! Embrace your spring and live your new life.” The words could be a reflection of the times or her life. Way to go, girl!
