Shweta Tripathi Sharma believes that fashion is an important part of her profession. And so, the actor who is a design graduate, is putting her degree to good use. She has been collaborating with her best friend who is a stylist, since the start of her career. Talking about it, Shweta says, “I feel I’m attuned to my tastes and have built a wardrobe based on them. I usually wear what I feel right and that’s the ground rule of fashion. I’m aware of my own pattern and what works for me and what doesn’t. I met my best friend, Pooja Sethi, 12 years ago and she has styled me for every big event, right from my appearance at Cannes (Film Festival) to my wedding. Often, we design things together and work in tune. It’s a beautiful collaboration and we often update our wardrobes together.”

As someone who has a keen interest in designs, tapestries and forms, Shweta invests good time in styling herself for public appearances. Fond of handcrafted fabrics, she often creates her own combinations of clothes which are unique to her. Her closet is a good mix of sporty and street style fashion, and she likes highlighting her look with chic jewellery and hairdos.

The Masaan (2015) actor says that novelty and experimentation, which is reflected in her choice of films, is also an important aspect of her sartorial sensibilities. “I trust my own sense of style which comes partly from the fact that I’ve studied the science behind this and have been spending years in this industry. Over the years, I have got fashion advice by the bulk but I believe in experimenting. There will be a few misses but it’s necessary to be risqué. I keep studying fashion, and watching out for interesting bloggers. My core words are novelty and creativity and I abide by these when dressing myself,” Shweta shares.
