Salman Khan, who is all set to wrap up his Eid 2020 release, the Prabhudheva-directed Radhe has already given the go-ahead to his next. The yet-untitled film has him playing a cop and will be helmed by Abhiraj Minawala, who last directed Aayush Sharma’s debut film, LoveYatri, for Salman’s production house. Interestingly, Aayush is also a part of this action drama. He plays a North Indian gangster.
“Salman has played cops before, but what excited him about this one is that he’s a Sikh cop. He will be growing a beard for real and wears a turban. He will undergo multiple look tests next week with his team,” revealed a source close to the development.
In the past, the actor had made a brief appearance as a Sikh army officer in Samir Karnik’s 2008 directorial Heroes, wherein he was paired alongside Preity Zinta. “However, this time around, there won’t be an actress opposite Salman. His is an honest, upright, no-nonsense cop on a mission. However, the hunt is on for a leading lady for Aayush, a gangster on the run. He will sport a rugged look and will bulk up for the role since Salman and he have several confrontations,” informed the source.
Abhiraj is currently finalising on the script with his writers while another team is working on the prep. The film goes on the floors by May. “Salman has allotted bulk dates for the shoot and he is looking at a year-end or early 2021 release. It will wrap up by September following which he moves on to Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali,” added the source.
Salman has shot the action scenes of Radhe with a Korean stunt team and it is sleek and stylised. The stunts in Abhiraj’s next will be raw and real. The actor also has Kick 2 and Tiger 3, which will roll next year.
